Item Description... Overview "The day of self-righteous, religious performing for cheap applause is coming to an end." TrueFaced draws a clear distinction between two very different underlying motives: my determination to please God or to trust Him. The resulting difference from these two starting points could not be more profound. One results in a striving that never feels it has done enough to please Him. The other results in a trust that experiences His full pleasure. Our motives as followers of Christ will either keep us in unresolved sin and immaturity or free us into God's astonishing dream for our life. Ideal for Small group and Sunday School Classes.
Publishers Description TrueFaced draws a clear distinction between two very different underlying motives Christians sometimes operate under: our determination to please God or to trust Him. This book shows us how to trust Him more. Explore issues of identity and grace in your relationships with others and with God.
Gift of Grace Books was established to glorify God in thanksgiving for his abundant grace.

 | A gracious invitation into God's goodness Nov 13, 2008 |
Thrall, McNicol and Lynch invite readers to remove the masks of pretending to have something to give God, and to admit that in a grace-relationship with Christ, hiding ourselves in shame prevents real relationships from forming both with Christ and with our brothers and sisters in Him.
This excellent exploration of what God has already done for us, and how God's work offers us freedom, is an invitation to know grace.
While at times the examples offered are overly simplistic, feel-goody, and more appropriate for a strictly 21st century evangelical than for a more scholarly / timeless read, the authors do bring the concept of God's goodness and our inability to contribute to our salvation into clear contrast.
The book brought me to tears and to moments of deep reflection. I'm glad I own it and can re-read it. | | | | I wish I'd found this book sooner... Aug 26, 2008 |
| TrueFaced lives up to its name. My heartfelt thanks to the authors for unmasking the masquerade... | | | | TrueFaced May 22, 2008 |
| Outside of the Bible, this is the most significant book I have read. TrueFaced has changed my understanding of how life with Christ can be free and fun,ie. it is not performance based. It explains GRACE and how it is freely given if we Trust Him with our lives. | | | | Trufaced Apr 14, 2008 |
| Excellent book. Reccomended for ALL in christianity! Also, for all who have been disillusioned by those who wore the "masks" and faces of christians. Great book for healing, restoration, and cleansing of the mind. A must read! | | | | A book to touch your soul and make you think Dec 23, 2007 |
TrueFaced is very well written. The writing is clear and easy to follow, yet deep. Real life stories help drive home the points. The book's concepts are very freeing-- like the idea that you don't have to wear a mask yet you can still be loved in a true community.
It's a great book that leaves you with a lot to challenge you to think about. | | | Write your own review about True Faced (Revised)
