Item Description... Overview Cape Light residents reflect on their past and future during the Christmas holiday, including David, recently returned home after serving in Afghanistan to find his widowed father remarried, and Lillian, who comes to the aid of a friend in need.
Publishers Description Nothing captures the essence of the holidays like Thomas Kinkade's paintings-and the unforgettable town of Cape Light.
Gifts of kindness are never forgotten...
After serving in Iraq, the injured David has returned home to find his widowed father remarried and his ex-girlfriend working for him on his tree farm. Trying not to seem bitter or discouraged is even harder than the physical therapy, and David realizes that he not only needs to heal his body but his heart as well.
Meanwhile, Lillian Warwick's daughters are concerned about their elderly mother living on her own. But when a friend, Dr. Ezra Elliot, is in need of help, Lillian finds they value each other beyond just friendship. Now, she's wondering if it's not to late to let love into her life.

 | great series.... Feb 25, 2010 |
| The book "A Wish for Christmas" is an excellent book in a series of books written by Thomas Kincade and Katherine Spencer. It arrived in excellent shape and condition. I am very pleased with it and the ease of acquiring it. Thanks this site!! | | | | Wish for Christmas Feb 14, 2010 |
| I really enjoyed this book and also the neat story of giving to others in need anonymously. | | | | Just Like Coming Home Jan 12, 2010 |
I read this on my new Kindle and truly enjoyed the book. If you've not read any of the previous books in the series, you could still enjoy this book (but you'd be missing out). I love discovering what my favorite characters are up to and how their lives have changed since the previous book. This is a good Christmas story, but definitely has some themes that apply to life regardless of the season. More than that, you're just going to have to read for yourself! I think you'll particularly enjoy the surprise at the end.
The only complaints I have with the book have to do with the Kindle formatting and some content. In the Kindle version I purchased, there were lots of spaces in strange places (like cutting words in half that shouldn't have been), there was an entire sentence run together without ANY spaces toward the end of the book, and there were a few words obviously missing. These were minor issues and did not really hinder my reading enjoyment.
What surprised me with this book was the authors' use of the word "damn" several times throughout the story. As Christian fiction, they've avoided the use of profanity in their other books, something I greatly appreciate. I go out of my way to avoid books with profanity, and while I can understand why it was used, it was just a bit of a surprise. So if you are one who seriously avoids profanity in literature, be forewarned. This was why I could not give it 5 stars. | | | | Cape Light Friends and Neighbors Jan 1, 2010 |
| A Wish for Christmas (Cape Light) I have read the series from the very beginning. It started out great and just got better and better! It's as if the characters have become my friends and neighbors--it's always good to see what's been happening in their lives. Part of the connection is the parallel to my own life... this past year, for example, my mother's memory and vision have declined. For several months she refused to talk about moving to a safer place that was closer to us. | | | | Great Read Dec 31, 2009 |
| I have thoroughly enjoyed all of the books in the Cape Light series and this was no exception. Reading 'A Wish for Christmas' was like spending time with old friends and building new frienships along the way. I highly recommend this book and the entire series. | | | Write your own review about A Wish For Christmas
