Overview
Piemonte - literally "foot of the mountain" - is in the far north-west of Italy and boasts some of the most productive agricultural land in Europe. The region's produce and its people are captivating. This book tells the story of friends and family, people and places, and of food and drink.

Publishers Description
The culinary heart and soul of the beautiful and culturally fascinating Piemonte region of northwest Italy—from Crissini con le Noci to Fritatta Gialla e Verde, and from tiny countryside trattorias to opulent Torino cafes—is explored in this alluring account that is equal parts memoir, local history, and recipe collection. Located between France, Switzerland, and the eastern portion of Italy, the area is home to some of the world's best produce and known for its autumnal bounty—wild mushrooms and truffles, rice harvests from the River Po, and specialty cheeses from tiny, mountain dairies. Secrets of the agriculturally rich Po Valley and tales of the spectacular capital of Torino are coupled with anecdotes about friends, family, and the importance of preparing and sharing good, quality food. Lavish color photographs capture the bustling culture and illustrate the splendor of the region, while also displaying some of the delectable recipes, including Anchovies with Salsa Verde, Taglierini with Fonduta and Truffle Oil, and Nougat Semifreddo.

Gift of Grace Books was established to glorify God in thanksgiving for his abundant grace. 2 Corinthians 4:15 "All this is for your benefit, so that the grace that is reaching more and more people may cause thanksgiving to overflow to the glory of God."

A must have for lovers of food and fresh produce!  Dec 3, 2008
A very passionate insight into northern Italy's produce basket, Piemonte. This is a region little known by the rest of the world and after reading this book by Manuela I still can't understand how it remains out of the limelight. A beautifully designed book filled with fantastic photographs and delicious recipes- highly recommended to those who get equal joy out of all things food!

you can flip through the book at her website which isn't too bad an idea, www.manuelafoodandtravel.com

Beautiful book  Oct 9, 2008
There really aren't many worthy books about the Piemonte region of Italy but this one definitely does it justice. Gorgeous photography, excellent and informative text, good recipes. The only thing that mars the book is the annoying frequency in which the author appears in otherwise wonderful photographs.

Delightful Travel and Recipe Guide to Italy's Northwest  Dec 29, 2007
This intensely personal book on the Piemonte is a delight. It is a gorgeous pictorial survey of the entire region. The narrative brings a nice personal touch. And the recipes seem to be delicious. I plan on cooking several.

The Piedmont is the one region north of Rome that we have not visited. I am already planning my next visit to Italy based on this book.
