Reviews - What do our customers think?
Great music  Dec 24, 2009
I have always loved the Music of Manheim Steamroller, so this collection of their past Christmas sounds was a must for me. To add to my pleasure I also purchased the new Christmas CD and one of the older "albums" I had purchased many years ago that definitely needed to be replaced.

Christmas Cheer  Oct 23, 2009
As a previous reviewer mentioned last year, Rush Limbaugh was indeed the one who introduced Mannheim Steamroller to much of the country. He once played the music video for 'Pat-A-Pan' on his TV show back in the mid-90s and I was a fan for life from that point. The amount of emotion that comes across from Chip Davis to the listener is absolutely astounding to me. I now have ALL his Christmas albums including The Christmas Angel (both the DVD of the TV production and the CD soundtrack)
Mannheim Steamroller - The Christmas Angel: A Story on Ice
as well as the DVD-Audio discs that he produced by setting up microphones around his back yard, then putting the birdsong to music (in 5.1 Surround, no less!), and the fantastical DVD-Audio of Mannheim Steamroller Meets The Mouse - Chip's tribute to the classic music of Disney films. Mannheim Steamroller Meets The Mouse: Unique Musical Creations Based On Disney Songs

Personally, I can't wait for the next one and wish I could afford to go to one of the live shows during their annual Christmas tours. Last year I actually had the money but couldn't get off from work. This year I got laid off on Oct 2nd so will have the time, but no money by then. It's a lose-lose situation, I guess.
Sigh...

My only comments on the quality of this release are that although the vocal tracks from Johnny Mathis and Olivia Newton-John were not necessary on an album that's supposed to be instrumental, their talents are not wasted here. They are two of the best voices ever to grace a record. I didn't even know that there WERE lyrics to Christmas Lullaby, but Miss Newton-John's performance is wonderful. The original Christmas Lullaby instrumental is a work of genius and one of my all-time favorites. While it doesn't lull me to sleep, it does touch me emotionally and brings back childhood Christmas memories.

Great CD  Apr 2, 2009
Thanks for the quick delivery on this wonderful CD. This was added to my collection of many CDs by Steamroller.

A different tack for Mannheim Steamroller  Jan 28, 2009
You can tell that this is a Chip Davis creation, but the style is distinctly different. Gone are the classic sounds of pipes and horns, which are replaced by very artifical sounding modern technology eletronics. I have listened to the CD at least 10 times, and can say that some arrangements are enjoyable and some I am not real crazy about. It will take some getting use to. To be honest....give me the unique original sound of MS.

holiday music  Dec 28, 2008
Mannheim is always great especially for the holidays. I love listening to this cd along with the others.
