She does not always make the right decision and sometimes I want to say to her "What are you thinking?" If she needs a good cry, she goes ahead and has a good cry. Her moods are very understandable. The Anne of Green Gables Boxed Set is perfect! These stories take you
back to a magical time and place but they are still realistic. Each book
pulls you deeper and deeper into the set. My grandmother and I read
this series together and both loved it.

These are wonderful books! I bought these after my son (age15) had an appendectomy to keep him from extreme boredom. We do read aloud time at our house and I had planned on using these books. These didn't make it that long. We have the Anne of Green Gables movies with Megan Fellows. But the books are even better than the movies, although the first movie follows the book really well. Needless to say, the whole family can't put them down. Everyone seems to want the one someone else is reading.

This was one of my favorite series when I was younger. I was probably older than the average reader when I began. My sister received the first two books as a Christmas gift and neither of us read them for years. Finally, I picked up Anne of Green Gables and started reading...and couldn't put it down. I moved on to Anne of Avonlea while entreating my parents, grandparents and all other relatives to buy me other books in the series. I loved each and every book as I read them, and over the years have read the series in its entirety multiple times.
I have to say that my favorites are the first three (Anne of Green Gables, Anne of Avonlea and Anne of the Island) and the very last one (Rilla of Ingleside), and I've definitely read those four even more than the whole series. I have favorite quotes, chapters, and incidents, and I think every young girl would love this series!
I also want to add that L.M. Montgomery is a fantastic author. I have also read her Emily of New Moon series multiple times, as well as various compilations.
