Overview
A compelling novel that addresses a rising issue and tragic statistic of young men in America being raised without fathers. A captivating story that will stay in your heart, long after the book is back on the shelf.

Trapped in a world of anger, 29 year old Bryan Whittaker cannot move on with his life until he takes a journey into his past ?a dangerous journey that will lead him into the heart of the Amazon Rain Forest. Instead of the revenge he seeks, Bryan finds redemption and in the process makes peace with his past.
The only clue he has that will help him know if he?s reached his destination is his memory of his father?s most treasured earthly possession?a beautiful alabaster cross.

Gift of Grace Books was established to glorify God in thanksgiving for his abundant grace. 2 Corinthians 4:15 "All this is for your benefit, so that the grace that is reaching more and more people may cause thanksgiving to overflow to the glory of God."

Reviews - What do our customers think?
Better than being there in person  Oct 20, 2006
Richard Exley paints such a compelling picture of what life in the this site rainforests is like. I love how he describes the scene down to the way the coffee is made! Beyond setting the scene, the story is beautifully written. One big thing I took away from this is the need to look deeper than surface appearances to find the heart of a person. As the son of a missing father, Bryan knows he must find out what happened to his father, lost long ago as a missionary in the this site. As he goes deeper into the past, he finds the multifaceted personality of who his father was as a person. This is a truly inpsiring novel - I highly recommend it!

Compelling Story  Oct 19, 2006
In The Alabaster Cross, Richard Exley has written a compelling and exciting story of mystery, adventure and romance. A young man's passionate pursuit to discover the truth about his father's disappearance in the this site also leads him on a fascinating spiritual journey as he faces his own confusion, bitterness and grief. This is a beautifully written story of faith, perseverance, forgiveness and redemption. I was not only captivated by the adventure, I was also impacted in my own spiritual journey. It takes a great book to accomplish both of those.

Confession of a "Noval" hater  Oct 1, 2006
I have a distaste for reading fiction, about things that didn't really happen as opposed to things that really matter.

As a favor to a friend, I agreed to read the "The Alabaster Cross" and it totaly changed my attitude. Richard Exley drew me into the story before I could help myself and when I finished I felt like I had lived the scenes myself. This book is a real sleeper and if you don't read this story you will have missed the experience of a lifetime
