In this Christian music program, Bill and Gloria Gaither and their group of "Homecoming Friends" join forces to pay tribute to Southern gospel bass singer George Younce. A TRIBUTE TO GEORGE YOUNCE gathers rare interviews with the singer as well as many of his most beloved performances. A major player in the world of Southern gospel music, Younce spent much of his life (over 50 years, to be exact) entertaining church audiences with his impressively low bass vocals. This tribute includes performances by Younce and his co-founded Cathedrals Quartet including "This Old House," "Thanks to Cavalry," "Going Home," and many others.

If you're at the stage of life where the kids are grown and gone, and you're at the station in your Christian life where you are beginning to look forward to your final homecoming, you will treasure this presentation. I had never heard of George Younce before my mom introduced me to this DVD a few months ago. George passed on in April of 2005, and I hope against hope that someday I'll get to meet him.

Bill Gaither does a good job with his tributes to fellow singers.
